First off, very smooth set up for a fair price and great follow up and confirmation pre-move. On moving day Cordell, Alex, Rasheed, Cian and Karan we were very professional and personable and managed all our items with great care. Even the very heavy piano! Would absolutely recommend this company.
Absolutely wonderful experience with the long distance line haul using 2 Small Men with Big Hearts! With a long distance move from Edmonton to Vancouver, I was worried about both costs and safety of the items I was shipping, as well as timing since I had a very strict schedule with the dates and elevator bookings. Thankfully, every member of their staff was incredibly helpful and punctual, and went out of their way to accommodate some of my requests! From the Move Coordinator Kristen R. and the dispatchers, I felt very prepared and well communicated with regarding the timing and plan. I was also pleasantly surprised at how good the price was compared to other companies - almost "too good to be true", but it made sense considering this was their most cost saving option where they ship your items alongside up to 2 other households altogether across provinces, and they do this on a regular schedule of pickup on Saturday and drop off Tuesday, so if that works for your schedule then it'll be an excellent option! On pickup day, theybimpressed me with how they sectioned off the truck and ensured everything is covered and wrapped with blankets and organized in a very strategic manner! Robin and Hussien, the two movers in Edmonton, were so kind and flexible when unexpected changes came up, and they were so much quicker than I expected too. Very professional, personable, and clearly experienced. Similarly, the movers in Vancouver, Cordell and Martin, were excellent in their speed, care, and commitment to the service and offered to help me offload items to my storage locker, not just apartment. They arrived early and had been ready to go, and finished unloading my entire apartment in an hour! If I had to be very critical, the only minor complaint I could share is that one or two items got some dirt on them, but were easily cleaned with a wipe. I have not yet noted damage to anything, but will be checking the TVs soon and will update my review if anything comes up. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to my friends and family, and would absolutely use their services again in the future! from the point of contacting eileen at reception, through our smooth move done by our crew ryan, rider and dave, we felt reassured and supported through our entire move process. our team of movers were polite, fast, hard working and respectful. along with all the furniture and treasures from our family home of 35 years, they moved our old family piano too. the piano was a big concern for me and these men navigated the move with solid reassurance. they loaded the truck in three hours and unloaded in an hour and a half! this move was from the lower mainland to vancouver island. not all moving companies will insure for this kind of move. thanks team! really enjoyed meeting you and working with you.
I just paid $28.86 per piece to move 15 minutes apart. Elevator both sides, up one floor. Not to mention losing my $200 deposit due to damage because the mover literally stuffed my reclining leather sofa into the elevator while the one of the movers was yelling that they hate working with the other. (The company assures me I will get it back 🤔). It took them a half hour to take my bed apart, wrap 3 pieces plus the Queen mattress, so 4 in total, and 2.5 hours to get 11 Furniture pieces (I made the bed rails count a 1) down to the truck, along with 5 large clothing boxes and 9 small boxes. Total pieces 25 and one bike, which I moved down and up myself. And just for fun, let's say we gave them 100 bucks to move the 14 boxes...just under an hour...that would mean I paid $56.51 to move each furniture piece. They then went to North Van instead of New Westminster and I waited from 12:40 when I arrived until 1:41pm...for them to arrive. I'd give them half an hour for slow travel in a truck but the detour? It then only took them 1 hr, 20 to get the stuff inside and unwrap. Same elevators, same distance to and from. Only difference, an extra guy. But does that one guy really account for the 1hr, 40 minutes of difference? And supposedly we need to account for how difficult it is to load 25 items into a truck? First half...3hrs. 2nd half...1hr 20. plus their driving detour in between. Total bill not including damage: $721.60. And this is off peak rates! This isn't even their full weekend or month end rates! While I never leave a complaint and try to understand where people are coming from....this needed to be mentioned. I've moved this same furniture plus my TV stand, dresser, side board and 25+ more boxes the same distance with other reputable moving companies for $800....and that's including the artwork, ironing boards, etc. I'm just shocked and saddened that these guys were like this and this company is okay with it. I hoped for better. Side bar, the additional guy seemed to know what he was doing but....too late I guess. The dispatcher Barb was really nice honestly and I'm thankful she took my damage seriously and even brought the extra guy to site herself. But no help on all the added time. Maybe I'm wrong but for any of you looking for a mover, judge your amount of stuff against mine and then budget $28+ for each....it'll give you a rough idea if your destinations are under 30 minutes apart. And then go get another quote elsewhere! Good luck!
