I had General Heating install two gas fireplaces in my home. The job was done in a timely manner. The installation team communicated well and did a professional job. General Heating handled the City of Vancouver's permitting and inspection. I would recommend this company for gas fireplaces.
Don't use this company! Today Feb 10th at around 12pm, one of the vans was holding up traffic coming from North Vancouver approaching the Lions Gate Bridge. He was using his cell phone and nearly slammed into me as I was trying to go ahead. Very reckless and irresponsible. I don't believe you can trust this company if they can't get to you safely and this dangerous! The license plate is SL 5226. I know this is a police issue and they have been contacted.
Recently had a heat pump installed by Hamid and his company. They did a great jump for a really competitive price. They put in a Daikin heat pump ductless system with 5 head units. If you are in the market for a heat pump, I recommend getting a quote from General.
We had General Heating come to give an estimate for furnace replacement. They answered all my questions. Upon request they provided all the required documentation to obtain strata approval. Their price was better than other quotes too. These guys worked very efficiently as a team and made sure we were happy. They showed up on time and were finished on the same day. They registered the furnace for us with the manufacturer and provided direction on how to receive Fortis rebates. They also booked an appointment for the City inspector to check their work. City inspector passed the work. Within a week, estimate to strata approval to installation, the job was done. We now have a new high efficiency furnace. It's quiet and we are warm. Good work guys. I am comfortable to recommend General Heating to my friends and neighbors.
The previous owners of our house had work done through this company on our behalf during transition, and spent 1k. 8 months later it's summer time and the AC doesn't cool so we called them up to ask if they had any warranty since it was just fixed by them, no problem if that's not a thing. They said there was warranty and they'd send a technician over. We were initially pretty impressed with the company as they seemed dependable, quick to respond, and takes ownership of their work. This quickly changed however. The tech was supposed to arrive between 1-3pm but never showed or called. We called back the same day about it, were told they'd check and call back but never received a callback. We called again the second day afternoon and found out the tech came at 12pm when we weren't home. Person on the line then said they wouldn't honour the one year warranty anymore because the sellers arranged the initial work on our behalf and not ourselves (this was known since first call so not sure what changed in one day's time). They now want to charge $180 to send someone to look. At this point it didn't make sense to me to continue working with this company. This experience gives me a bad feel: 1. The AC they supposedly fixed didn't cool within less than a year (fall vs next summer) 2. no accountability 3. Poor communication or planning on when the tech was supposed to come 4. Customer support sounds disorganized we got told different things by different people and had to keep calling to figure out what was going wrong It's hard to have trust in this company's work or promises after this experience.
