Kevin and his team were simply outstanding from start to finish. Kept me fully informed of what they were doing, were polite, worked diligently, and left the place spotless. Komo Roofing is definitely a reliable roofing team managed by a gentleman.
Great experience with Komo in replacing our roof! Kevin provided a detailed quote which was competitive against the other four we received. He walked us through the different items/options and didn't try to push any unnecessary extras. The job started on the agreed date and was completed in 2 and a half days. Good communication throughout. The installers (David & team) were friendly and knowledgeable. They did a good job of tidying the site each day and took care to protect the neighbours houses. When rotted pieces of plywood were discovered they did a good job of documenting it with photos and replacing it at the agreed unit rate. The overall quality of the work seemed evident. We would recommend them.
I've used Komo twice, once I had very good service for a reasonable price to replace a roof. My second experience was much, much worse. The company installed a roof vent system. It was both incorrectly installed and poorly done. The company owner claims that he installed the vents as per the contractor's design, even though not to code. As a roofing specialist, one would hope that this is the kind of thing that would be marked and fixed. Their poor work, along with an insulation job poorly done by another contractor, resulted in a wet roof and necessitated a significant and costly repair. Komo came back to inspect the roof and denied all responsibility. A third party building envelope engineer found Komo's work to be faulty. The company still refused to accept responsibility. The owner of the company called me at 8:oo in the evening, five days after the invoice was presented (not overdue) and yelled at me to the point where I had to hang up. He told me that he doesn't like working with contractors, only directly with the client. I suspect that this is because he doesn't like his quality to be checked. The owner of the company claims to be one of the good guys, but the was he treated me and the quality of his work says otherwise. I had a very poor experience with this company. The owner is a hot head who does not work well with others and harassed me for a bill that was not even a week old. Based on my experience with them I would not recommend this company. He treated me, the homeowner, and my crew incredibly disrespectfully and refused to accept responsibility for poor work. If you want shoddy work and to be yelled at, hire Komo. Otherwise, hire someone else.
Komo Roofing installed new flashing on my Vancouver home. They provided good quality materials and detailed workmanship at a reasonable cost that was fairly close to the initial estimate. I recommend this company for anybody needing roofing services.
Kevin and his team were very professional and honest. Kevin is straight forward and assessed our poorly installed roof quite well. He did not try to up sell us on products that we did not need. He layed out available options and was well informed about the pros and cons of each option. He even explained the option of 'doing nothing' and explained to us the benefits of NOT getting a new roof installed...which almost no private contractors will do. I highly recommend Kevin and Komo Roofing. They installed an exceptional roof in two days with no visible damage to the yard (except flattened grass that has since popped bright back up), no complaints from the neighbors, no damage to the house and gutters and zero residual materials left onsite. You'd be foolish not to use Kevin and Komo!
